An agreement is expected to be signed between the Cottonera Waterfront Consortium and Heritage Malta for the operation of Fort St Angelo.

This is being done with the aim of enhancing the fort's historical and defensive aspects.

On Sunday, Heritage Malta will be opening parts of the fort that have been closed to the public. Tours will be held at 10 and 11 a.m. in English and at 2 and 3 and 4 p.m. in Maltese.

Participants are to meet in front of the Maritime Museum in Vittoriosa 15 minutes before the start of the tour.

Tickets can be bought from either the Inquisitor's Palace also in Vittoriosa or from the Malta Maritime Museum. Tickets sell for €7 (Lm3.01) for adults and €5 (Lm2.15) for students and holders of KartaAnzjan. Children under the age of 16 enter for free but need to obtain a free ticket from the Maritime Museum or the Inquisitor's Palace.

The admission ticket is also valid for the Maritime Museum and the Inquisitor's Palace, where between 2.30 and 4.30 p.m. visitors will be able to follow a historical re-enactment highlighting the life of sailors of the Order of St John while the musical group Gukulari Ensemble will be performing at the Inquisitor's Palace.
