Youngsters invited to 'alternative' leisure activities

Sedqa, the agency against drug and alcohol abuse, is planning a number of activities for young people throughout the year which it will organise together with a number of non-governmental organisations.

The events - targeted at those between 13 and 16 years of age - are aimed at inculcating a positive approach to life through participation in alternative leisure activities.

Sedqa believes that it is essential for young people to use their free time in an appropriate manner since this would not only be beneficial to them, but also have a positive impact on society. The series of activities will kick off with an introductory session in judo, fitness and self-defence in collaboration with the Malta Judo Foundation to be held on Saturday at the St Aloysius Sports Complex between 1 and 4 p.m.

Bookings can be made by calling 2131 0463 and asking for Louise Galea or Alexis Milne.
