Air Malta, pilots' union reach agreement

Air Malta and ALPA, the trade union which represents the pilots, have concluded their long-running talks on a new collective agreement. The talks had appeared to stall just before Christmas, with ALPA warning it could resort to industrial action.

The talks had appeared to stall just before Christmas, with ALPA warning it could resort to industrial action. The sticking points were the union's demand for better pay and better assignment of duties.

The deal is subject to agreement by the airline management and the ALPA members.
