French Ambassador Jean-Marc Rives and cultural attaché Anne-Marie Debausscher recently visited Stella Maris College, Gzira, and were reportedly very satisfied at the students' enthusiasm to learn French language and culture.

Mr Rives and Ms Debausscher watched Form II students of French from the college and St Catherine's High School, Pembroke, taking part in a quiz and delivering Powerpoint presentations about several topics including la Francophonie and La Gastronomie française, and visited an exhibition at St Joseph's hall entitled La Ville.

They later saw Form III students attempting to prepare crepes in the school kitchen, and Form IV students using ICT to learn French.

Doreen Farrugia, co-ordinator for modern languages in Church schools, organised and planned the activities in co-ordination with the respective teachers.
