A 37-year-old man was yesterday given an 18 month jail term suspended for three years after he admitted to stealing electronic equipment from United Parcel on November 8 2007.

Paul Brian Farrugia admitted to stealing 20 DVD players, three cameras, three mobile phones and three Mp3 players from United Parcel.

Magistrate Saviour Demicoli took into consideration the fact that Mr Farrugia returned the majority of the items stolen and had only minor offences on his police conduct.

Police Inspector Anthony Portelli prosecuted.
