Rabat Depiro 3
Qormi 2

Rabat made their attacking intentions clear from the start and by the sixth minute they were already one up. A free hit by Kevin Micallef caught the Qormi defence napping and Charlo Antonelli nipped in to beat Ramon Chircop in goal.

This setback served as a wake-up call for Qormi who improved their game in search of an equaliser. After 14 minutes, a move between Philip Magri and Jonathan Williams saw the latter set up Gareth Dimech who made it 1-1.

Five minutes later, Rabat's Azzopardi stormed out of goal to block the advancing Ludwig Xuereb but Qormi were not to be denied.

They moved ahead after 26 minutes when Xuereb hit the target following a short corner.

On 31 minutes, Qormi would have increased their lead but for Matthew Buhagiar who cleared off the line.

In the second half, Qormi's performance suffered a dip whereas Rabat took command of midfield.

The champions levelled the score on 43 minutes, Antonelli scoring his second of the day with a deflection off Kenneth Debattista's attempt.

Three minutes later, Rabat regained the lead. Falzon saw his first attempt at goal repelled by Chircop but from the rebound, the same Rabat player squeezed the ball home from an acute angle.

The goal had a demoralising effect on Qormi who, contrary to the first half, could not muster a reaction.

White Hart 3
Sliema Hotsticks 1

White Hart fielded two new players for this match, Sandro Bartolo, who join from Sliema Hotsticks, and Anthony Roberts, who hails from Australia. On the other hand, Sliema had Keith Vella and Keith Scicluna missing.

The game was off to a frenetic start with the first chance at goal falling to Hotsticks' Simon Baldacchino who miscued his hit.

On 10 minutes, Luke Mallia, in Sliema's goal, saved a drive from Simon Agius following a short corner. Four minutes later, Sliema took the lead through Liam Pace who scored with a bullet-like hit.

White Hart's reaction was somewhat confused. A clearance off the line by Agius saved the day for White Hart who raised their efforts thereafter.

They won two consecutive short corners. The first was saved by Mallia but from the second, Anthony Roberts set up Carl Tua who pushed the ball past the keeper.

White Hart held the initiative in the second half. In the 55th minute, Giancarlo Torpiano hit the side-netting when all alone in front goal.

Then, Agius's pass reached Tua who placed the ball past Mallia to put White Hart 2-1 ahead.

Barely a minute later, White Hart sealed their victory. From another attack, Borg Costanzi's pass to the unmarked Tua was deflected in by Sliema's Dylan Lentini for a classic own goal.
