Man faces trial on drug charges
Mario Borg, 32, Bugibba is undergoing trial by jury, accused of importing heroin, planning to import heroin and possession of drugs that were not for his personal use.
He is denying the charges.
Police Inspector Nezren Griscti, prosecuting, said the police had been tipped about the movements of two Turkish women and eventually caught one of them in possession of 88 capsules of heroin. More capsules were found in her hotel room in St Julians.
The woman later pointed to Mr Borg as having allegedly imported the drug.
