Artificial turf is being laid at the Mons. Giov. Andrea Vella Primary School in Zebbug, Gozo, which will join another four schools whose pitches have been upgraded.

The artificial turf already installed at the Sir Arturo Mercieca Primary School in Victoria and that being laid at the Aguis de Soldanis Girls' Secondary School cost more than €9,000 (Lm3,863.70), invested by the Ministry for Gozo.

The playground located at the Anton Cassar Primary School, Ghajnsielem was financed by the Foundation for Tomorrow's Schools earlier last year.

In a similar project at the Rosa Magro Xewkija Primary School, works on the school playground were funded by the locality's football club in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo. This school is also currently undergoing final modernisation and upgrading works, while benefiting from a direct investment of more than €300,000 (Lm128,790).
