Fgura man dies after being found unconscious

A 34-year-old man from Fgura died yesterday after he was found unconscious in circumstances which could indicate drug abuse.

He was found lying on the floor in a private residence in Antonia Maria Cumbo Street.

The police said they confiscated material associated with drugs from the residence.

The police went to the residence at 10.40 a.m. after they were informed that a person was unconscious on the floor. Attempts by paramedics and medical staff both on site and at Mater Dei Hospital later to save his life proved futile and the man died soon after he was admitted to hospital.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke opened an inquiry and appointed a team of experts to assist her.

Investigations continue.
