Tancred Tabone has been elected president of the Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, taking over from Victor A. Galea, who had reached the end of his term.

Stefano Mallia was elected senior vice president and Charles M. Mercieca, vice president.

Mr Tabone joined the Chamber in 1981, and served on its council for the past two years. He has been managing director of the Forestals Group since 1981 and is a former chairman of the Malta Trade Fairs Corporation, the Water Services Corporation, Mediterranean Offshore Bunkering Company and Enemalta.
