A section of busy Rue d’Argens in Msida will be closed for some 11 weeks from Wednesday while Waste Water Services Ltd lays new mains,the Transport Authority has announced.

The street will be closed from the junction with Misrah il-Menqa up to the junction with Triq Sant' Antnin.

The authority said that for the duration of the works, Ta’Xbiex seafront from the corner with Misrah il-Menqa up to the corner with Triq Abate Rigord will be open to two way vehicular traffic.

Triq Abate Rigord from Xbiex seafront to the corner with Triq il-Principessa Margerita will also be open to two way vehicular traffic.

Triq Abate Rigord from Triq il-Qoton up to the corner with Triq il-Principessa Margerita will be one way to vehicular traffic in the direction of Triq il-Principessa Margerita.

Triq Testaferrata from Triq il-Principessa Margerita up to Triq Giorgio Mitrovich will be one way to vehicular traffic towards Gzira.

Rue D’Argens from Triq il-Principessa Margerita up to corner with Triq l-Imsida will be one way to vehicular traffic towards Gzira.

Triq Antonio Sciortino from the corner with Triq il-Principessa Margerita up to Triq il-Makna tas-Serrar will have the one way system reversed towards Triq il-Makna tas-Serrar.

Triq il-Gdida from Rue D’Argens up to Triq Johnny Catania will have the one way system reversed towards Triq Johnny Catania.

Triq il-Makna tas-Serrar from Triq Johnny Catania up to corner with Rue D’Argens will have the one way system reversed towards Rue D’Argens.

Access to Ta’ Xbiex seafront will only be permitted from Triq il-Monsinjur Dandria.. No access will be permitted during peak hours.

No access will be permitted from Triq Monsinjur Falzon and Triq Antonio Sciortino onto Ta’ Xbiex seafront.

Vehicular traffic and public transport from Misrah il-Menqa in the direction of Gzira/Sliema will be diverted to Ta’ Xbiex seafront, Triq Abate Rigord Triq il-Principessa Margerita and Triq Testaferrata or Rue D’Argens.

Traffic from Rue D’Argens in the direction towards Msida will be diverted to Triq l-Imsida and Triq Abate Rigord; traffic from Triq Testaferrata towards Triq il-Principessa Margerita will be diverted to Triq Giorgio Mitrovich, Triq Giuzeppe Cali and Triq Abate Rigord and traffic from Ta’ Xbiex seafront towards Triq Abate Rigord will not be permitted to access towards Ta’ Xbiex Yacht Marina.

Vehicular traffic from Triq Abate Rigord towards Ta’ Xbiex seafront and the Yacht Marina will remain uneffected.

Traffic coming from Gzira seafront towards Valletta will remain uneffected, the authority said.
