Much to be done - PM

A number of people from the media were present for yesterday's reception.

Describing 2007 as a historic and successful year for the country, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi yesterday said that a number of projects were underway and a great deal remained to be done.

Addressing a reception for media representatives, MPs, Nationalist Party candidates and clients of the PN-owned Media.Link Communications, Dr Gonzi drew a parallel between the country and the new PN headquarters.

"Malta is like this edifice: works in progress. A lot has been achieved and a lot still has to be done. We are on the right track," he told guests.

On the new headquarters, Dr Gonzi said it was the party's dream of the new millennium - half of the building has been completed and is already being used, while work on the rest is underway.

Dr Gonzi also spoke about the introduction of the euro, saying the changeover process was smooth and the Maltese were now embracing the single European currency.

"2007 was a very good one for Malta and we achieved excellent results. Let us continue to work together to achieve similar and possibly better results in 2008."
