Today, at 10 a.m., Bishop Mario Grech will lead Mass at St George's parish church and at 6 p.m. at the Cathedral church to celebrate the feast of the Epiphany. At 3.30 p.m. Mgr Grech will celebrate Mass at St Lawrence parish.
On Friday, at 5 p.m., Mgr Grech will meet priests, who will be delivering lenten talks, at the Good Shepherd pastoral centre, Victoria. Priests will pray together, discuss the theology of Baptism and share together the pastoral needs in the diocese in order to address them during the lenten sermons.
On Sunday Mgr Grech will lead a solemn Mass at 10 a.m. at St Lawrence parish church during which Fr Ignatius Borg of Xagħra will be officialy installed as the parish priest of the community.
A weekend break for the Nadur elderly will be held between Friday and Sunday at the Vivaldi Hotel, St Julian's. Those interested are to register at the office of the Nadur council. Places are limited. Price €46.59 (Lm20)
Evan Almighty will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m.
The Gozo Youth Wind Band will give a concert on Saturday at 8 p.m. at St George's Square, Victoria, featuring pop, film and musical arrangements together with a number of traditional English music reminiscent of the Proms Final Night held each year in London. Special guest will be the British High Commissioner Nick Archer. For further details phone 9942 1611.
On Saturday, Archpriest Salvu Muscat will lead a concelebrated Mass at 5.15 p.m. at the Nadur basilica. Uera Chamber Choir, of the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Moscow will take part. On Sunday, at 6 p.m., the same choir together with the Gaulitanos Choir will give a concert at St Peter and St Paul Basilica, Nadur. The concert is being organised by the Nadur council.
