Heritage Malta has planted a number of trees at Ta' Qali and at Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija in Marsascala in support of the national 34U campaign.

It used the money it would have spent on Christmas cards.

A special e-card was instead sent to recipients in Malta and abroad highlighting the fact that the agency would be engaging in a green exercise.

Heritage Malta's chairman Mario Tabone and chief executive Luciano Mulè Stagno attended the tree planting session at Ta' Qali.

Dr Tabone stressed the need for more awareness about culture and the environment, which he said were closely linked.
