Councillor's car vandalised a second time

St Paul's Bay councillor Raymond Tabone's car has been vandalised for the second time in the space of a few weeks and he is linking the acts to his work on the council.

Speaking to The Times, the Malta Labour Party councillor said the latest act of vandalism took place on Saturday night when vandals kicked in the passenger side of his car.

Around four weeks ago, the other side of his car was vandalised in broad daylight, he said.

Mr Tabone claimed the vandalism started when he began asking certain questions during council meetings.

On one occasion, Mr Tabone said, he got a threatening phone call telling him to stop asking certain questions during the meetings.

Police reports have been filed about all the incidents.

Local Council Association president Michael Cohen condemned the vandalism.

Like other councillors, Mr Tabone's work for his town should be appreciated, he said.

Mr Cohen urged the police to bring the perpetrators to justice.
