Leisure industry suggests use of public transport to Paceville

The tourism, hospital and leisure division of the Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises - GRTU is appealing to young people going to Paceville tonight and on New Year's Eve to be at their chosen place of entertainment before midnight in order to avoid traffic congestion.

It advised them not to leave things to the last minute and suggested the usual car pooling.

"Every five people travelling in one car would mean four fewer cars on the roads and four more parking stations," the division's president Philip Fenech said.

Baltic Street, the road under the Manwel Dimech bridge, has been opened for incoming traffic to St Julians from San Gwann, he said.

Mr Fenech suggested the use of taxis and buses, while encouraging youths to hire mini buses, reminding of the parking provided at Luxol and the accompanying shuttle service.
