Another translation of book on Gramsci

The book Gramsci, Freire And Adult Education. Possibilities For Transformative Action, by Maltese author Peter Mayo, has been translated into Italian.

The book was originally published in English by Zed Books of London and sold over 2,000 copies after having gone into reprint. It was subsequently published in Catalan, Portuguese and German, which has just gone into reprint. The book is also expected to be published in Spanish and Turkish.

The Italian version was first presented to the Maltese at the Italian Cultural Institute earlier this month, on the initiative of the institute's director, Anna Maria Di Marco.

Piergiorgio Reggio of the Catholic University of Milan and Gloria Lauri Lucente of the University of Malta provided critical comments on it.

The book was also presented in Gramsci's native Sardegna, where the Italian version of it was published. It is produced by the Sassari-based publisher, Carlo Delfino Editore.

The translator of the Italian version of the book, which was updated by the author, is Alessandro Medas.
