The application fee for a non-immigrant visa (NIV) to the United States will increase from $100 to $131 as from January 1. This increase, implemented worldwide, is the first since October 2002 and will ensure that sufficient resources are available to meet the increased costs of processing NIV applications, the US Embassy said.

Applicants requesting a non-immigrant visa at the US Embassy in Floriana after January 31 will be required to present a paid receipt(s) from the Bank of Valletta for the euro equivalent of $131. For the month of January only, BOV receipts issued in 2007 based on the previous fee of $100 will be accepted.
