Ryanair, Europe's largest low fares airline today launched a new route from Malta to Venice (Treviso). Ryanair's Sales and Marketing Manager for Southern Europe, Bridget Dowling said:

"We are delighted to have launched Ryanair's 8th route from Malta today. We have already had 7,000 bookings on the new route to Venice and this demand shows that the Maltese people are continuing to welcome our low fares. There is now a wide variety of Ryanair routes from Malta and passengers can explore Dublin, London, Pisa, Barcelona, Bremen, Stockholm, Valencia and now Venice whilst taking advantage of Europe's lowest fares.

"To celebrate the inaugural flight to Venice (Treviso) Ryanair is selling seats from €10 on www.ryanair.com but passengers are advised to book early as demand will be exceptional."

She told timesofmalta.com that the airline expects to carry some 40,000 passengers on the route annually.
