Charged with attempted murder of wife and son

A 49-year-old man was yesterday charged with the attempted murder of his wife and son.

Magistrate Tonio Micallef Trigona heard the man from Floriana plead not guilty to trying to kill his wife and son and to the illegal possession of a pistol and a pointed instrument in Marsa last Thursday between 6 and 8 p.m. The court granted the man bail on condition he does not leave his home and bound him by a personal guarantee of Lm 5,000 (€11, 687).

The name of the man is not being published to protect the identity of his family.

Police Inspectors Nezren Grixti and Martin Dalli prosecuted.
