It has been a year of major developments for Go Mobile, with the group welcoming new chief mobile operations officer Norbert Prihoda who has taken up his post in time for the festive season.

The past 12 months have seen Go's mobile operations arm grow with the introduction of mobile communication solutions that remain unmatched by the competition.

"This month marks Go Mobile's seventh anniversary. These seven years have been an exciting journey - this year we have officially reached an overall market share of 47.25 per cent.

"Besides this significant growth in user numbers, we have also recorded a growth in value, increasing Go Mobile's share within the contract segment to 42.50 per cent from the 37.79 per cent as it stood at this time last year. This year Go Mobile was responsible for the introduction of 3.5G wireless Internet and e-mail services nationwide, the only Maltese operator to offer this service across the islands.

Mr Prihoda announced new offers for the Christmas season. All new customers will benefit from free calls to Go Mobile for 30 days as soon as they top up with Lm5 (€11.65) or more. If the first top-up is Lm10 (€23.29) or more, customers get Lm 21.47 (€50) of free talk-time to all Go Mobile numbers. This talk-time is awarded Lm4.29 (€10) a month from February. If the first top-up is of Lm5 (€11.65), customers receive Lm10.73 (€25) of free talk-time to all Go Mobile numbers, in batches of Lm2.15 (€5) a month from February.

Current subscribers who top up with Lm10 (€23.29) or Lm20 (€46.59) will receive 500 free SMS valid to all Go Mobile numbers. This offer is valid until January 20.

Meanwhile, a range of mobiles to suit all tastes and budgets is being delivered to Go Mobile for Christmas. These handsets all come with their own special offers.

One of the most-talked about matches of the season is the Juventus vs. Valletta game on January 9 at the National Football Ground in Ta' Qali. All Go Mobile clients will save Lm5 on their tickets as discounted tickets are being offered from all Go Mobile shops for Lm10 instead of Lm15.

All Go Mobile customers are also entitled to a free 'Arrive and Drive' go karting session at Badger Karting in Ta' Qali this month and in January - pay for one 'Arrive and Drive' session and get another one free. Send an SMS to 5070 5159 and you will receive a confirmation message back.

Go Mobile has also announced a significant reduction in TV on your Mobile service rates.

Go Mobile is the only Maltese operator to offer this service on a mobile phone. The service can be accessed through a number of mobile phones and is available on both EDGE and 3G technology.
