A 26-year-old man from Xghajra was yesterday sentenced to six months imprisonment suspended for a year after admitting to threatening, assaulting and slightly injuring a policeman.

Magistrate Edwina Grima heard Charles Buhagiar plead guilty to threatening and attacking four policemen, including one woman, and slightly injuring one of them in Marsascala and Xgÿajra on Sunday.

He also admitted to breaching the peace and using foul language.

Police Inspector Alexander Grech prosecuted.

Lawyer Anglu Farrugia appeared for the defence.
