As a life-long resident at Ta' Xbiex, I find it strange, if not outright sinister, that George Cowie, a resident of Surrey, England, seems to have made it his business to write a long series of letters to The Times about the goings on at Ta' Xbiex and, specifically, to make the point that "all is not well in Ta' Xbiex".

Ta' Xbiex is one of the cleanest and most orderly localities in Malta.

Our council has been working very hard with an ongoing embellishment programme, concerning all the needs of the locality. And the staff at the council renders excellent service to all residents who need it.

Council members pull the same rope in the service of Ta' Xbiex without allowing political partisanship to interfere with their work.

Also the fact that our mayor has been returned to office in three successive elections speaks more eloquently than this correspondent on whether or not all is well at Ta' Xbiex.
