Saturday column

Am I the only person on these islands who is brought to boiling point on Saturday mornings by reading the butchering of the English language perpetrated by Anthony Licari in his column?

Grammar, syntax, punctuation and correct use of words are all put to the sword in his weekly attempts at wit.

The result is literary murder and obfuscation, proving the sword is mightier than the pen. It's a shame, because he obviously has some clever allusions and satirical ideas to get across. Please put his copy in the hands of a sub-editor with a good command of the language before it disgraces the columns of The Times in future.
