I was absolutely stunned to read about another mega-construction project in the old part of St Julian's. I grew up playing in the fields surrounding The Palms and it breaks my heart to think that some speculators have stooped so low as to develop this small, already congested area.

Birkirkara Hill is a one-way street and drivers using this road are already finding it difficult to go through smoothly. Delivery trucks like those carrying gas cylinders, and minibusses taking children home just stop in the middle of the road to conduct their business leaving a trail of cars waiting helplessly behind. If this project is given the green light I urge the residents of this area to get together and discuss what could be done to stop it from going ahead.
