Alexia Cross, 28, was yesterday charged with fraud, stealing a cheque book and with breaching probation.

She pleaded not guilty to stealing the cheque book, forging signatures on the cheques and defrauding Raymond Avallone, Joseph Lewis, Bank of Valletta, Rays Garage and Lewis Jewellery on and before last May.

Police Inspector Ian Abdilla prosecuted. Lawyer Veronique Dalli appeared for the defence.
