Charged with loitering for prostitution

Richard Spiteri, 35, was yesterday charged with stealing money and a mobile phone and with loitering for prostitution and offending public morals.

Mr Spiteri, who is known as Rakela, pleaded not guilty to stealing a mobile phone, Lm87 in cash, and with loitering for prostitution in Albert Town, Marsa.

He was also accused of offending public morals in a car in the area and with breaching bail conditions.

Lawyers Jose Herrera and Veronique Dalli appeared for the defence.
