Former Chicago Bulls player Scottie Pippen will make a one-off appearance for Swedish side Sundsvall Dragons in January. The 42-year-old American, who played alongside Michael Jordan and helped the Chicago Bulls to win six NBA titles, will play for Sundsvall on January 11 when they take on Akropol at home in the Swedish basketball league. Pippen retired in 2004 with a knee injury.


Dallas Mavericks head coach Avery Johnson has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for his actions during a game against the Indiana Pacers last week. Johnson was penalised for failing to leave the court in a timely manner and for verbal abuse of a game official. The incident occurred with 8:34 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Mavericks' 111-107 loss to the Pacers on Friday.
