The West side of Manwel Dimech bridge was closed this evening following the opening of the East side earlier today, signifying completetion of the first half of the much delayed project and causing long lines of traffic. As a result the tunnels to one side of the bridge have also been closed.

Meanwhile, the GRTU is urging the government to keep both spans open over the Christmas holidays. A meeting between both sides is to be held.
