Auditions for major ballet performance

The Crown of Russian Ballet will be staging The Nutcracker, which is recognised today as being the most popular ballets of all times, between January 19 and 20 at the Malta Conference Centre, Valletta.

The artistic director and choreographer from The Crown of Russian Ballet, Anna Alexidze will be here between Saturday and Monday to audition hundreds of young and talented ballet artistes from Malta and Gozo for this unique event.

Those who succeed in these auditions will be asked to perform together with, and on the same stage as, some of the world's greatest ballet artistes.

The Crown of the Russian Ballet was founded in the early 1990s, as the choreography of that time demanded a new repertoire.

The repertoire of the Crown of Russian Ballet includes classical masterpieces as well as modern dance staged by Anatoly Emelianov, which have been formally recognised by ballet schools and professionals worldwide as extremely interesting and progressive in the framework of world choreography.
