Obituary

BORG - ROBERT, aged 97, died peacefully on November 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. Beloved husband of the late Carmen and revered father of Nancy, wife of the late Judge Prof. Wallace Gulia, Marcelle, wife of the late Major Eric Busuttil, Marlen and her husband Paul Micallef, Elspeth and her husband architect Tony Muscat, Maris Zammit, Alfred Zammit and Prof. Robert M. Borg; loving grandfather of Myra, Gabrielle, Cindy, Bill, Ronnie, Paul, Marcelle, Sandra, Duncan, Keith and Michael; and a much revered great-grandfather of 16 children. He also leaves to mourn his loss his brother Dr Francis X. Borg in Canada, his sister Mary Joslin and Denise widow of his brother Dr Paul Borg, other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
May the Lord grant him eternal peace.

SANT. On November 25, at her residence in Tal-Virtù, Rabat, JOSEPHINE, wife of the late Vincent, aged 74, passed away suddenly. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Suzanne and her husband Josie Stafrace, Audrey, and Vincent and his wife Bernice, her grandchildren Shayelle and Aidan, her sisters Carmen, wife of the late Vincent Portelli, and Miriam, wife of Dr Paul Vassallo Agius, in-laws and friends.
The funeral leaves St Catherine's home in Attard tomorrow at 3 p.m. for St Dominic church in Rabat where Mass prasente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at Sta Margerita Cemetry in Rabat. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greately appreciated.

Vulnerable Families Project

The National Family Commission plans to set up a joint project with voluntary organisations with experience in working with vulnerable families and communities.

The aim is to offer a coordinated and complementary range of services. The commission is inviting interested parties to submit proposals by Friday.

Mass For Guzi Fava

A Mass in remembrance of Guzi Fava, the founder of the Sliema Wanderers FC Nursery, will be said on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the St Aloysius Sports Complex in Birkirkara. Past players, coaches and members of the nursery are invited to attend.

Talk on Caravaggio

Nicola Spinosa, Soprintendente per il Polo Museale di Napoli, will deliver a public lecture on December 4 at 5.15 p.m. on Caravaggio E I Caravaggeschi A Napoli.

The lecture will be held at the Science Lecture Theatre (next to the library) at the University of Malta, Msida. Parking in carpark 6.

Guests are asked to reserve a seat and to make a donation of Lm3 or Lm5 and thus assist the Caravaggio Studies Programme and the Caravaggio Specialised Library at the University. Cheques are to be made payable to the Director of Finance, University of Malta, and addressed to Keith Sciberras, Caravaggio Studies Programme, Department of History of Art, Faculty of Arts, University of Malta, Msida.
