Occupancy in accommodation establishments went up by 10.4 percent in September compared to the same month in 2006, the NSO said.It said occupancy reached  73.9 per cent as guest-nights increased across all categories.
 The office said that in September 2007,  the total nights spent in accommodation establishments climbed to 880,676, an increase of 15.8 per cent over the corresponding month in 2006.
Year-on-year, the average length of stay in accommodation establishments increased by 0.4 nights to 6.7 nights. 

The overall bedstock in Malta  stood at 38,267 beds, virtually unchanged when compared to the previous year.
In the Gozo and Comino bedstock  stood at 1,639 beds, a decrease of 8.4 per cent over the comparable month a year earlier.
