A 27-year-old man from St Julian's has been fined Lm500 for illegally copying and distributing counterfeit DVDs.

Saviour Azzopardi pleaded guilty to the possession of 129 DVDs and illegally copying them by breaching copyright laws earlier this year.

Mr Azzopardi also pleaded guilty to relapsing.

Police Inspector Maurice Curmi prosecuted.

Lawyer Joseph Giglio appeared for the defence.
