Richard Clayderman live in Malta

Celebrity pianist Richard Clayderman will be teaming up with the National Orchestra of Malta for a concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on December 8.

Clayderman has recorded over 1,000 melodies and has done more to popularise the piano around the world than any of his contemporaries. His album Ballade Pour Adeline sold 22 million copies in 38 countries. He will be playing tracks from this album during the concert. The programme will also feature his all time favourites like Lettre a Ma Mere along with medleys of soundtracks from the films Love Story, Titanic and Harry Potter.

His international success has resulted in a busy itinerary which, in the past, has seen him play as many as 200 concerts in just 250 days spent outside France. This year's calendar of events includes concerts in China, Slovakia and Malaysia.

Clayderman will be performing under the direction of Christopher Muscat of the National Orchestra, which is marking its 10th anniversary in style.

The blending of a live soloist and string instruments with synthesised and electronic instruments is Clayderman's secret formula that has earned him an ever-increasing reputation all over the world.

Tickets are available from MCC Booking Office, e-mail: bookings@mcc.com.mt or by calling ticket hotline 7934 4355 or e-mail info@maltaorchestra.com. More details are to be given at a press conference being held tomorrow.
