'The Hong Kong Advantage'seminar at Chamber of Commerce

Hong Kong's bridging role between Malta and China will be the focus of a business seminar, with the theme 'The Hong Kong Advantage', being organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

The seminar, on Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m., is being organised in co-operation with the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise at the Chamber in Valletta. Registration is free.

Chamber secretary Peter Grima will speak on 'The Internationalisation Project of the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise'; Duncan Pescod, of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, special representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the European Communities, will speak on 'Hong Kong's Latest Economic Development';

Angela Alfarano, director, Italy, Malta, Greece and Cyprus, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, will speak on 'Hong Kong turning China into Opportunity'; Siegfried Verstappen, senior investment promotion executive, Invest HK, will tackle 'Investment opportunities in Hong Kong'; Malcolm J. Naudi, chairman of the Institute of Maltese Journalists, will give 'An overview of Hong Kong seen from a Maltese perspective';

Silvia Tagliaferro, director Italy, Cathay Pacific Airways, will speak on 'Hong Kong: the ideal logistics gateway to China and Asia'; and Claudio de Bedin, partner Clyde and co Hong Kong, will speak on 'Investment in the PRC and the strategic role of Hong Kong'.
