Canon steps up presence in CAD, GIS markets

Canon Europe has launched two new large format printers (LFPs), the Image Prograf iPF710 and Image Prograf iPF610. Created for the CAD, geographic imaging systems and general large format office sectors, the printers are the fastest in their class for these markets.

The Image Prograf iPF610 is able to deliver a full colour A1 print on plain paper in just 33 seconds, while the Image Prograf iPF710 can produce an A0-sized output in only 56 seconds.

Both printers have Canon's FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) high-precision print-head technology. Capable of creating ink droplets as small as four picolitres in size and with more than 15,000 nozzles, the Canon print-head ensures accuracy and image sharpness and delivers a resolution of 1,200dpi, allowing users to reproduce fine lines and small characters without distortion.

The Image Prograf iPF710 and iPF610 replace the Image Prograf iPF700 and iPF600 and are available in Malta at Canon's local agent Avantech Limited of St Venera.
