Obituary
BORG. On November 22, at her residence in Tarxien, CARMELINA of Paola, widow of Guzi, aged 81, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Tony and his wife Rose and Louis and his wife Lina, her grandchildren David and his wife Tereza, Muriel and her husband Mark Galea, Yvette and her husband Ian Falzon, Lara and Reuben Bonett, Claire and her husband Eric Cordina, and Joanna and her husband Robert Van Der Laan, her great-grandchildren Michela, Mireille, Xikira, Yannick and Alessia, her sisters and brother, Mary and her husband Leli, Lucia, residing in Canada, Frances and her husband Lorry, Twanny and his wife Carmen, Carmelina, residing in Australia, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Ta' l-Erwieh Cemetery chapel, Tarxien, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to Siggiewi Homes will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.
CUTAJAR. On November 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, MICHAEL of Valletta, K/A Il-Moro, aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary, his children Carmen and her husband Manuel, Jesmond and his wife Rose, Louise and her husband Sandro, grandchildren Neil, Jean, Andrew, Maria, Michaela, Karl, Chiara and Manuela, his sister Mary and her husband Nenu, and Freddie, his in-law Henry, their respective families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9 a.m. for St Augustine parish church, Valletta where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

DINGLI ATTARD. Suddenly, on November 21, MARY, née Sapiano, widow of Joseph, aged 86, passed away to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Nadette, Mariella and Pierre, in-laws and grandchildren, her only surviving sister Licia, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30 p.m. for Fatima parish church, Guardamangia, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

ZAMMIT. On November 21, at Villa Messina, Rabat, JOSEPH of Tarxien, widower of Rita, aged 90, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Beloved father of Myriam, Pauline, Susan, Monica, Godwin, Charles, Brigid, Lawrence, Joan, Doreen and the late Joseph and Louise. He also leaves to mourn his loss their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his brother Publius, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Villa Messina tomorrow at 8 a.m. for the Annunciation parish church, Tarxien, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Quiet Time
The School of Practical Philosophy, situated at 101, St Christopher Street, Valletta, is making its premises available for quiet time or meditation on Wednesday from 6.30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This day of stillness is a world-wide movement which, with the current state of conflict in the world, attempts to spread the healing power of stillness across the globe, the organisation said.
The School of Practical Philosophy is a non profit-making organisation.
Romanian Vote
Romanian citizens in Malta are entitled to vote in the forthcoming European Parliament elections and the referendum for the uninominal scrutiny this Sunday. Voting will take place at the Honorary Consulate of Romania, 60, South Street, Valletta between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Car Missing
A white Kia Picanto, registration ABK 229, was reported stolen from Sliema on November 16. Anyone spotting the car is asked to contact the police or its owner on 2133 1105.
Gozo Singers' Festival
Preparations are in full swing for the first edition of the Music Stars Singers festival which Ceejay Promotions will be presenting at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, on December 13. The event is open to Maltese and Gozitan singers of all ages.
Gozitan singer/songwriter Miriam Christine Warner, from Ceejay, said the aim of the show was to put Gozo under the spotlight. The festival will be divided into seven age group categories. Singers can perform original songs or cover versions and they will be given the opportunity to perform with a half playback system.
The show will feature entertainment by top singers and musicians.
Applicants must provide a recent photograph, their birth certificate, a CD with the playback music and the lyrics of the song to be performed. The closing date for applications is today.

Marriage Encounter
The Cana Movement, through its Christian Families Movement branch, will hold a Marriage Encounter on December 8 and 9 at the Dar tat-Talb, Lunzjata, Rabat.
The encounter, which will be held in the afternoon on the Saturday and throughout the Sunday, provides the opportunity for married couples to find quality time together enabling them to renew their relationship in a Christian environment.
Fr Joe Mizzi, Cana Movement director, will be facilitating the encounter.

Hard Rock Anniversary
A special event will be held to celebrate Hard Rock Café Malta's seventh anniversary on Sunday. The band Colourblind will perform popular rock songs together with other cover versions at Hard Rock Café in Baystreet from 9 p.m. onwards.

The Malta Union Club said the operetta/musical concert From The Operetta To The Musical, being held at the club today, is fully booked.
NCW Activities
Joe Camilleri, director of Social Services, will hold a discussion on Social Security Services at the National Council of Women's centre in Mountbatten Street, Blata l-Bajda on Monday at 6 p.m.
The council's education and culture committee will be holding a literary evening at the centre on November 30 at 6 p.m. Members and friends are invited. The participation fee is Lm2.50/€5.82.
The council will hold its Christmas buffet dinner at the Waterfront Hotel, The Strand, Gzira, on December 15 at 8.30 p.m. The price is Lm9/€20.96.
