A man was given an 18-month jail term suspended for three years for injuring another man.

Joseph Fava, 23, of Zabbar pleaded guilty to assaulting, insulting and injuring David Gialanze in Zabbar last May 20.

On handing down judgment, Magistrate Saviour Demicoli heard how Mr Gialanze had accepted Mr Fava's apology and that Mr Fava had a clean criminal record.

Police Inspector Alexander Grech prosecuted.
