The migration of patients from St Luke's to Mater Dei Hospital was completed today, nine days after it started and a day ahead of schedule.

The last 10 patients were transferred from St Luke's Hospital to Mater Dei this morning.

All acute healthcare services (inpatient and outpatient) are now being provided from Mater Dei Hospital.

In all, 420 patients (including nine babies) were  transferred from St. Luke's Hospital to Mater Dei.

The hospital said that in the first 36 hour period following the start of operation of the Accident and Emergency Department at Mater Dei on Sunday morning, there were almost 2,000 transactions on the Pneumatic Tube System.

There were almost 13,000 calls answered by Linja Mater Dei staff since the service started on October 22nd.

The hospital management thanked the  public, hospital staff and authorities for their constant cooperation throughout the migration process.
