Serbia's Euro 2008 Group A qualifier against Kazakhstan has been postponed until next Saturday due to unplayable conditions, the Serbian Football Association (FSS) said on its website yesterday.

"The match has been rescheduled after referee Luis Medina Cantalejo of Spain and UEFA delegate Peter Forusek, of the Czech Republic, deemed the conditions unplayable this morning because of a heavy snowfall," the FSS said.

"Forusek and Medina, accompanied by representatives of Serbia and Kazakhstan, made the decision after measuring 15 centimetres of snow on the pitch and learning from the weather forecast that the conditions would deteriorate."

It had been hoped to play the match at noon yesterday after it was called off on Saturday but the game was delayed again following an early morning pitch inspection.

Serbia need to beat group leaders Poland on Wednesday and Kazakhstan and hope Finland win in Portugal in order to qualify for next year's finals.

Wednesday - Azerbaijan vs Bel-gium; Armenia vs Kazakhstan; Portu-gal vs Finland; Serbia vs Poland.

Saturday - Serbia vs Kazakhstan.
