Renault aims to achieve sales that will catapult the third-generation Laguna to the top three in its segment, according to Auto Sales Ltd general manager Mario Xuereb.
Speaking at the launch of the new French D (upper medium) segment car at the new Kind's showroom in Mosta Road, Lija, Mr Xuereb said Renault is backing the model with a three-year warranty.
The Laguna was the first car in history to achieve five stars in the EuroNCAP crash test and the latest incarnation aims to offer best-in-class active and passive safety features, apart from delivering real driving pleasure.
A five-door "liftback" saloon, in a choice of Expression and Dynamic trim levels, with two diesel engines of 1.5 and 2.0 litres, this is the quietest in its segment, insulating driving sounds and reducing aerodynamic noise.
Specifications include remote central locking with keycard, ABS braking with EBD, manual air-conditioning, 16-inch allow wheels, driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags, Isofix system on the rear seats, front and rear central armrests and tinted glass.
