Last month, the Maltese Poets Association took part in the 34U campaign organised by the Ministry of Environment, near the Red Tower in Mellieħa. The evening included music, song and poetry sessions.

The association's secretary, Charles Magro, compered and read a short introduction about the spiritual link between poets and the natural environment. Mr Magro and other members of the association - John Mallia, Emmanuel Attard Cassar and Patrick Sammut - then read nature poems in Maltese.

Other poems read during the event were written by the association's president Alfred Massa together with Alfred Palma, David Muscat, Therese Pace and Raymond Grech, all members of the MPA. Walter Micallef enchanted the audience with his songs and music during intervals.
