An 18-year-old boy has been fined Lm100 after he admitted to downloading child pornography from the internet last year.

The boy, who was a minor at the time of the incident, admitted to the possession of child pornographic material.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli heard how he had a clean criminal record and was a minor himself at the time of the commission of the crime.

For these reasons she fined him Lm100 and ordered a ban on the publication of his name as he was a minor.
Police Inspector Raymond Aquilina prosecuted. Lawyers Andy Ellul and Vincent Micallef appeared for the boy.
