THE TIMES

-  The Commonwealth has warned Pakistan of suspension from the organisation if the current political situation does not improve. The warning was issued after a foreign ministers’ meeting in London presided by Maltese Foreign Minister Michael Frendo.

- The police are holding a man suspected of having attacked a Sliema shop window using a hammer.

IN-NAZZJON

-          The Nationalist Party said the Labour Party is improvising the costing of its own proposals, with spokesmen giving different figures.

-          The first in-patients were transferred from St Luke’s to Mater Dei Hospital yesterday amid enthusiasm and satisfaction by both professionals and patients.

-          The police are investigating an attempt to set fire to the front door of the residence of Mdina councillor Jane Attard.

-          A jury has started hearing evidence in the trial of a man accusing of killing a neighbour following an argument over a parking space in Zurrieq eight years ago.

-          1,287 ecstasy pills land man seven years in jail and a Lm2,5000 fine.
