Stiano Agius, 26 and his wife Eleanor Tracy Agius, 29, both of Qormi were arraigned in court this morning accused of  conspiracy to traffic cocaine, possession of cocaine in circumstances denoting it was not for their personal use,  and money laundering.

Mr Agius was also accused of cocaine trafficking, possession of ammunition without a licence, possession of counterfeit cash and relapsing.

The two pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani turned down their request for bail.

Dr Franco Debono was defence counsel. Police inspectors Denis Theuma and Paul Vassallo prosecuted.
