Labour MP Leo Brincat's letter (Kappara Residents' Genuine Concerns Cannot Be Sidetracked, November 1) warrants an answer. The mature politician's contribution smells of panic. He probably visited houses after my visits there, which visits started one year ago. Over the years, my part has been that of being pro-active to the various concerns of the same residents.

I will leave out any mudslinging and personal attacks as those are a Labourite trademark and concentrate on the fulcrum of the problem: Residents there have lost their way of life.

My duty is to see that such a condition is reversed. My actions over the past years are confirmed by the residents themselves. My parliamentary questions on Kappara date back months if not years, unlike the sudden blitz undertaken by Mr Brincat. My rather old articles underlying the Kappara residents' plight are known to all. Far from too late and an unlikely too little.

I would accept any invitation, from the school in question, from the Labour local council, and together with the residents, to approach the problem holistically.

Once again, let's only score points for the residents.
