The Malta Environment and Planning Authority decided 681 applications in October and received 744 new applications, so that the net pending caseload at the end of the month stood at 4,615.

During the same month it issued 59 stop and enforcement notices and closed 32 enforcement cases.

The Complaints Office received 46 cases, which were resolved without the need of enforcement action since the owners complied with the instructions given by Mepa enforcement officers.

The authority also carried out two direct action operations in October, one in Naxxar, involving the cleaning of the valley and another in Delimara, where premises were sealed off.
