Forty-six rover scouts from the Mosta, St Aloysius' College, St Michael's School, Zurrieq, St Venera, and Stella Maris College scout groups recently held a weekend camp under tents with physically disabled persons at the National Scout Centre Campsite, Ghajn Tuffieha.

It was the first time that disabled persons were fully integrated into a Rovercamp, which brings together youth scout members between the ages of 18 and 26 from various scout groups around Malta.

Rovercamps are one of the main activities carried out each year by the Rover section, which was reactivated in 2002 under Edward Vella's leadership.

Mr Vella came up with the idea to invite persons with disability to take part in the camp and to organise activities that they could take part in, command task games, a cooking competition, a photographic competition and an aerial runway.

The event was jointly organised by the Scouts Association's Rover section and Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija. Twanny and Elaine Fenech led the disabled persons group.
