Joe Calzaghe and Mikkel Kessler will put their unbeaten records on the line for their world super-middleweight unification bout in the early hours of tomorrow morning at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

Local boy Calzaghe has never tasted defeat in 43 professional fights while Dane Kessler, seven years his junior at 28, brings a 39-0 record to the dragon's den.

Whoever prevails in front of an expected 50,000 plus crowd of patriotic Welshmen will walk away as the unanimous world super-middleweight champion.

NBA - China's Yi outshines Yao

China's Yi Jianlian delighted his home media despite fouling out on his NBA debut as the Milwaukee Bucks lost 102-83 to the Orlando Magic.

Beijing Youth Daily's "Yi's debut is better than the senior men" referred to compatriot Yao Ming's less than impressive start to his NBA career with the Houston Rockets in 2002.

The 7ft 6in Yao played 11 minutes, scored no points, grabbed two rebounds and fouled three times but has since gone on to become a five-times NBA All Star. In addition to his nine points, Yi grabbed three rebounds, two blocks, one steal and six fouls in 25 minutes.

Rugby - Jones applies for Wallabies job

Broadcaster Alan Jones has applied for the job of Wallabies coach and said he wants to be an agent of change.

Jones, who coached the Wallabies from 1984-88, said he did not expect to take the team through to the next World Cup in 2011 but wanted to introduce a more attacking style of play.

South Africa's World Cup-winning coach Jake White and Australians David Nucifora, Laurie Fisher, Ewen McKenzie and Scott Johnson are among other candidates for the Wallabies job.

John Connolly stepped down as Australia coach following their World Cup quarter-final defeat by England last month.

Peter McGrath will continue as Australian Rugby Union (ARU) chairman following an investigation into an incident at the World Cup in France, the ARU said.

McGrath was alleged to have turned up drunk to an official function the day before Australia's quarter-final defeat by England in Marseille, leading to a formal complaint from one of the team's major sponsors.

The ARU said that although it would be counselling McGrath in relation to his behaviour, it retained confidence in his chairmanship.
