Melita Cable plc yesterday increased the number of channels on its digital platform to further enhance its content offering.

The new channels will provide thousands of customers access to channels never available before in Malta, the company said.

The new channels span across different genres of content especially news and entertainment.

Customers interested in news from different parts of the world now have access to France 24 in both the English and French as well as Al Jazeera International.

For entertainment and music buffs, channels such as Trace TV, Fashion TV and FMen will be a another addition to the current channel line-up.

The other channels include Wine TV and Bebe TV.

All these channels will be included on both the Melita Active and Connect packages at no extra costs to Melita customers, the company said.

The new channels are available to all Melita Digital customers through a software download on customers' set-top boxes. Customers will get the new channels automatically.

"The addition of new channels on our network continues to consolidate our position as the leader in the provision of TV access services," Franco de Gabriele, Melita sales and marketing manager, said.

"Our offering compares very well with other European Cable operators and our plans are to continue increasing channels that add value in our market. More channels will be increased to the digital line-up before the end of the year."
